How We Are Run

The work of the Cancer Alliance is overseen by the Cancer Alliance Board, which meets every two months.

Our Board draws together leaders from different clinical and managerial disciplines working across the North East and North Cumbria area. The members are asked to scrutinise the work taking place and, working collaboratively, hold each other and the leadership team to account. This includes lay members who advocate for the patient and public voice.

The Board is informed by a number of other strategic groups. These are the groups that bring together senior clinicians, commissioners and members of the public.

Our Board operates on an advisory basis for transformation activities, using a consensus-based model to bring local partners together to transform outcomes.
