Cancer Alliance Public Involvement Accountability Forum (PIAF)

This group brings together our patient and public experts from across the North East and North Cumbria, the membership includes Lay Representatives, Experts by Experience, Voluntary sector, Charity and patient and public networks.

The Forum is co-chaired by two of the Alliances Lay representatives – Annie Dolphin and Karen Gannon.

The forum aims to assist the Northern Cancer Alliance Board in improving patient outcomes and experience of care, by ensuring that the NCA Framework for Public Involvement is used and integrated into the core business of the Alliance.

The members are also asked to ensure that the views of the public are taken into account in the planning, operation and evaluation of the Northern Cancer Alliance work programme.

The forum also aims to support the development of collaborative relationships with Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) and partner organisations that facilitates effective and appropriate public involvement in the work of the Alliance.
